Vice President John Mahama at the weekend urged all Muslims who wish to take part in this year's Hajj to abide by the time frame of the payments of the hajj fee, to ensure a smooth organisation. According to the Vice President, the government is determined to organize a better hajj this year and has started preparation towards the Hajj and will abide strictly by the payments date.

Mr. Kobina Ade Coker, Board Chairman of the Ghana Export Promotion Council (GEPC) has appealed to the government to allocate two per cent of proceeds from the Export Development and Investment Fund to the Centre.  He said this will enable the GEPC to develop and promote the country's Non-Traditional Exports (NTE) in a sustainable way for increased revenue generation.
